At their meeting on May 13th, 2024, Madison Heights City Council formally approved and adopted the new Zoning Ordinance and Zoning Map!

Final Public Hearing for New Zoning Ordinance and Map
On May 19th, 2024, the Planning Commission recommended approval of the draft Zoning Ordinance and Zoning Map to City Council.
The Madison Heights City Council will be holding a public hearing on the draft Zoning Ordinance and Zoning Map on Monday, May 13th, 2024 at 7:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, 300 W. 13 Mile Road. After the public hearing, City Council will conduct a second reading of the Ordinance and, if desired, can make a motion to formally adopt the Zoning Ordinance and Map.

Following over a year of hard work between the Planning Commission, Zoning Ordinance Steering Committee, Community and Economic Development staff, and planning consultants, the City of Madison Heights is excited to release the draft of the new Zoning Ordinance for public review. The new Zoning Ordinance aims to implement the visions of the Madison Heights Master Plan, allow for user-friendly and clear development regulations and, most importantly, promote development that is consistent with the City's goals and policies.

The Planning Commission and City Council will hold a Joint Public Hearing to discuss the draft Zoning Ordinanceon Tuesday, March 19th, 2024 at 5:30 p.m. in the Breckenridge Room at the Madison Heights Library, 240 W. 13 Mile Road. Public comments regarding the draft may be made at the public hearing. Alternatively, public comments may be emailed to City Planner Matt Lonnerstater at MattLonnerstater@madison-heights.org or mailed to the Community and Economic Development Department, 300 W. 13 Mile Road.
