Tuesday, June 14, 2022
The Yang T’ai chi ch’üan (Tàijíquán) class will allow students to develop their balance, strength, and vitality. In addition to enjoying its many health benefits, students will also practice the martial applications of T’ai chi ch’üan, or “Grand Ultimate Fist.” Yang T’ai chi ch’üan is
an ancient internal Chinese martial art that specializes in short- and middle-range fighting as well as promoting health and relaxation. Students will learn to use internal Yin energy to absorb and redirect attacks and external Yang power to deflect attacks and deliver blows as well. Students will practice T’ai chi ch’üan forms, martial techniques, pushing hands, ch’in na (joint locks), qigong, and meditation. Students wear loose-fitting athletic clothes, no jewelry. This is an eight week course and held at Civic Center Shelter building.
