Shaolin Kung Fu for Adults Session 2 Begins

The adult Yuejiaquan (“Yue family fi st”) kung fu class will introduce students to basic defensive and offensive techniques, which include blocks, sidestepping, ch’in na (joint locks), throws, kicks, and punches. Students will learn the practical internal (Yin) and external (Yang)
fighting techniques of the classical monks and nuns of the Shaolin Temple in China, which was founded over 1500 years ago. In addition to learning greater self-defense capabilities, students will learn meditation and qigong principles which will lead to benefits like improved health, confidence, discipline, and memory. Students wear loose-fitting athletic clothes, no jewelry. Those advancing in rank can pay test fees to instructor when necessary. This course is eight weeks and held at the Civic Center Shelter building.

Non-Residents: $95
