Meet the Water Department!

Chris Woodward

Chris Woodward is the City’s Utilities Supervisor and is in charge of the day-to-day operations of the Water & Sewer Division. Chris is an 8 year veteran of the Department of Public Services and was promoted to Utilities Supervisor in early 2018. He was nominated by his peers to Chairman of the Southeastern Oakland County Public Works Association (SOCPWA) earlier this year. Chris holds a S-2 Drinking Water Operator Certification and is an active member of the American Water Works Association and Public Works Association. He recently celebrated his 1 year wedding anniversary with his wife Andreana and enjoys weekends up north, boating and snowmobiling.

Matt Hallett

Matt Hallett is the City’s Water & Sewer Foreman who leads and oversees Water & Sewer crews on a daily basis. Matt believes that teamwork is the key to success in any organization and his work ethic and performance echoes that. He is relied on heavily during the City’s annual water main replacement projects and is a highly skilled heavy equipment operator. Matt is a 19 year veteran of the Department of Public Services and was promoted to Foreman in January 2019. He is a devoted father of three girls and enjoys barbequing and golfing in his spare time.

Mike Gentilini

Mike Gentilini is an Equipment Operator I and is assigned to the Water & Sewer Division on a daily basis. He is relied on for his excellent utility locating skills and experience with water main/service repairs. Mike is a 4 year veteran of the Department of Public Services. He is father to two children and enjoys golfing and football in his spare time. Thank you for everything you do for the department and our residents Mike!

Tony Whalin

Tony Whalin is an Equipment Operator I and is assigned to the Water & Sewer Division on a daily basis. The department relies on Tony for his experience with marking utilities in response to Miss Dig requests, experience with water meters and excellent customer service abilities.  Tony was born, raised and currently resides in Madison Heights. He & his wife have two daughters and a son. In his spare time, Tony enjoys fishing, golfing and hockey. Thank you for your service to the community Tony!
