Purpose

The purpose of the committee is to advise and assist the City on environmental programs, educate and encourage citizen participation in programs to improve the environment and coordinate programs and projects referred by the City Council.

Composition

The committee is made up of 6 members, 2 alternates and 1 Council Representative.

Terms

Members serve 3 year terms.

Qualifications and desired skill set

Members must be Madison Heights residents with a general interest in environmental concerns throughout the City. Topics range from recycling, tree planting, gardening, to create a green infrastructure ordinance. Members are expected to assist with volunteer activities such as the annual Arbor Day tree planting.
