The Brownfield Redevelopment Authority assists property owners and businesses redevelop sites that have environmental contamination. If a site qualifies, tax incentives may be available to assist in the costs associated with clean up and redevelopment.
Purpose
The Brownfield Redevelopment Authority assists property owners and businesses redevelop sites that have environmental contamination. If a site qualifies, tax incentives may be available to assist in the costs associated with clean up and redevelopment.

Membership Information
Composition
This board is comprised of 8 to 12 members of the Downtown Development Authority and the Mayor and no less than a majority of the members shall be persons having an interest in property located within the downtown district.
Term
Members-at-large serve 4 year terms. The authority is a member of a coalition with 6 other Oakland County communities that was awarded a $600,000 dollar United States Environmental Protection Agency Coalition Assessment Grant. Madison Heights' share $60,000.
Desired skill set of board members
Real estate development, assessing, business development knowledge is desired. Must have either property interest located within the DDA district and/or a commitment to redevelopment in Madison Heights.
