Pursuant to the State of Emergency declared by Governor Whitmer and until further notice, the court is closed to the public. The court will be scheduling virtual dockets using Zoom technology. Please contact the court at 248-583-1800 if you have any questions.



The 43rd District Court is a limited jurisdiction Court serving the cities of Madison Heights, Ferndale, and Hazel Park. The Court has jurisdiction over criminal misdemeanors, civil cases in which the amount in dispute is $25,000 or less, parking violations, traffic violations, landlord-tenant disputes and small claims matters. In addition. the Court has initial jurisdiction on criminal felony cases for the purpose of determining probable cause.

Security Screening Policy 


All individuals entering the courthouse must proceed through security screening. Weapons, cellphones, cameras, and recording devices are prohibited in the courthouse. For security reasons no liquids - including coffee and water bottles - are allowed to be brought into the courthouse.
43rd District Court Amnesty Program

The 43rd District Court will waive the $35 default judgment fee and 20% late penalty on all parking tickets and suspended civil infraction tickets.  (Clearance fees will still have to be paid).  The bench warrant fee and the 20% late penalty will be waived on all payable misdemeanor traffic violations.  The bench warrant will be canceled if paid in full.   Tickets must be paid in full by money order or credit card.  No personal checks will be accepted.
