Originally termed Victim Advocates, the Crisis Response Team was formed by the Madison Heights Police Department in 1984. This was the first police-based crisis response program in the State of Michigan.

Program Purpose

The purpose of this program is to assist crime victims or persons who are traumatized by incidents they have been either directly or indirectly involved in. These volunteer responders are given extensive training in crisis intervention techniques before participating.
