Field Training Program

The Field Training and Evaluation Program is nationally recognized law enforcement training that involves on-the-job training, coaching, and performance assessment of newly recruited police officers. The goal of the program is to develop new recruits to be professional and capable of solo patrol. All Madison Heights Police Department recruit officers (including those with prior law enforcement experience) are entered into the program. The program is split up into four phases, with three different training officers. Those who excel in the program, and recruits with prior law enforcement experience can be accelerated through the program.
